My most favorite spy friend personal french teacher morgia has written another Torchwood squirrel fic for my very own birthday. It features the little stone garden squirrel above that came with the house we just got - She's famous now!!

Quick rundown of what I’ve been up to now that I’ve gotten over being crazy sick for so long…
After this I’m off to catch up on all the reading I’ve missed. amand_r especially - she's been busy with some amazing stuff!! Worst part about being sick was having all the free time but being completely unable to focus.
Also - Not sure if he's around to see this, but... HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!

Speaking of my awesome new neighbor, Sue has made a spectacular Supernatural themed pumpkin and posted it here. It is currently hanging out here with my pumpkin beautifying the dining room :D

Now I realize this isn't quite on par with the freaky orange dust storm that Australia had, BUT this is not moving weather. Especially when we only had the pickup to use until RLBF gets to borrow the furniture truck from his work (tomorrow I think).

So this last weekend was a blast for me...

Moving day is even closer now, but the piles of boxes are spreading. I really wish I was done already, and probably should keep moving BUT the mess is starting to intimidate me again. Time for a break?

Jeannie was extremely unhappy with how she was unrepresented in the first chapter and demanded kindly requested I show people how useful she was. Direct quote from her:

“GET TO WRITING. THIS IS MY LIFE, YOU KNOW. I NEED TO BE HELPFUL. MAKE ME HELPFUL, DAMMIT.”

She gave me three days, and an offer to turn a writing high five into a writing hug, so I hope she’s happy with my latest effort.

I should be packing. I know this. I have less than a week now. LESS THAN A WEEK!! But instead I sat down and scribbled this little bit out.

I blame the fact that I'm in a great mood (IT'S BALLOON RALLY WEEKEND!!) and Debitha who said, and I quote, "I am trying to envision the clones 'helping' you pack up and move. I'm sure they'd all have excellent intentions..." Like that wasn't going to make my mind wander? Sue also did nothing to discourage me from writing this either. I blame you all, I am the innocent party here! I wanted to pack, really I did!

It was a slow day at work, and I got bored. I suppose I could have cleaned up, restocked, taken inventory … any number of productive things. Instead I wrote this – The thinky thoughts of Patelyne Alemp, acting medic for ask_twnz. I’m calling it a fic, because I don’t really know what else to call it. Blame it on ask_theharkni, I figured if the clones are all thinking about themselves then maybe I should too.

I was going to put this up on Monday, but I spent most of the day huddled up in a blanket burrito catching up on recorded shows (one eppy of Being Human left) between naps and coughing fits. That’s what I get for spending the day in the mountains in the pouring down rain. We had loads of fun though. It was good to get out of town BUT by the end of the day I was soaked through. I actually stood in a two inch puddle and didn’t even notice until RLBF pointed it out. I was upset that I forgot to charge the battery on my good camera, but it turned out not to matter since there is no way I would have carried it around in that storm anyway.

Thanks to my “get better drink” this morning, I made it through the day at work and now I’m huddled back up again, tea in hand, trying to type this up before I get too sleepy.

A Jack Hawkness update I didn’t want to have to make, a shopping trip to Wally world that helped to cheer me up, and random thoughts about packing house.

Here’s a little story of how we had the best lightening storm in ages and why I only managed to get one (admittedly crappy) picture of it.
It will also go to show you how far I will go to defend my stance, even when I’m lying and know I’m wrong. I figured I should start with this disclaimer so I don’t get any emails or comments telling me “Um Patelyne? You are an idiot such and such is just not true…” I know this, but it doesn’t stop me from trying to argue against it. In fact Anthony -I wonder if I can get him to actually answer to RLBF hmmm...maybe if it was actually pronounceable? - anyhow he was in fact right about everything, not that I’d tell him that of course. Well everything except the killer corn people. He’s wrong about that. I hope.

I totally blame this on a combo of a messenger chat with and the fact I had a bad day. How bad a day? You don’t want to know. No really you don’t. I typed up a whole rant and then deleted it because it was too bitchy for me to even stomach. So what did I do instead? Inner Ianto played RP Chat with Andy pergirl14, and then later with Jack tardistenantsue. I sort of had Ianto get run over by Hart. It was a hit and run because Ianto was poking where Hart didn’t think he ought. Yes I took my bad day out on fictional characters. Would you rather I take it out on you? I thought not. So anyhow, when Japonica went to do dull RL things (paint. Ick) and Nikki was sleeping (stupid timey wimey zones) I decided to work on getting Ianto patched up on my own. Least I could do after imagining him into that situation. Except I’m not really sure even that turned out so well…
Anyhow, it's silly and goofy and wierd but I nearly managed to cheer myself up with it so I'm sharing with you guys (especially you guys who abandoned me on messenger!)

Good news, bad news time…quick recap (with linkydoos to posts w/pics and such) for anyone who has no idea who Captain Jack Hawkness is:

We found a poor baby hawk that fell out of one of the trees in our yard. It took over our yard, and tried to ride my scooter

So today I woke up in a good mood. Seriously super good mood, dumb ass smile and all. I couldn’t figure out why. I couldn’t think of anything earth shatteringly good that had happened lately. Then I thought maybe it was just a combination of little happy things so I made a list. Yes I did this at work, on a yellow order pad and in pen. If you know me then you understand that this is weird (and seems to be occurring much more frequently lately)
